A Vancouver man was sent to the hospital Monday morning after a two-vehicle crash in Clackamas County, Ore.

Witnesses told Clackamas County sheriff’s deputies that shortly after 10 a.m. a GMC Sonoma pickup was northbound on Southeast 82nd Drive when it left its lane and collided with a Volkswagen GTI near Southeast Church Street.

When deputies arrived, they found the pickup lying on its side, and the Volkswagen had front-end damage. The driver of the Volkswagen, Rickie Batchelder, 39, of Vancouver was transported to OHSU Hospital. Hospital administrators said he was in good condition Monday afternoon.

Norman Hunt Jr., 46, of Portland was taken to Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center with minor injuries. He was interviewed by deputies at the medical center.

Investigators believe an underlying medical condition possibly led to the crash, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies cited Hunt for failing to maintain his lane.
