An allegedly intoxicated Ridgefield woman was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault following an early-morning crash on southbound Interstate 5.

Andrea Yarosz, 28, was driving a 2007 Toyota Yaris south on the freeway behind a 1989 Oldsmobile Cierra. At about 3:40 a.m., the Yaris rear-ended the Cierra near the Interstate 205 split, according to Washington State Patrol.

The driver of the Cierra, John Nemeth, 70, of Ridgefield, was injured and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Yarosz was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault and driving under the influence of intoxicants. Troopers said speed caused the collision.

Two lanes of the highway were blocked for about four hours while troopers investigated the crash.
