Portland fire officials respond to six arsons

PORTLAND — Portland fire officials said they responded to half a dozen fires set by an unknown suspect in the same neighborhood Saturday.

The fires, set early Saturday morning in the Portsmouth neighborhood, involved two houses, two vehicles, one recycling bin, and one abandoned chair in a parking lot, Portland Fire & Rescue officials said.

There also were two additional acts of vandalism with rocks thrown at two car windshields in the same neighborhood.

Officials said there were no reported injuries as a result of the incidents.

Investigators said they have obtained surveillance video showing a suspect in the driveway of a home.
