WOODLAND — The northbound lanes of Interstate 5 at the North Fork Lewis River Bridge will see a reduced speed limit starting Monday as crews begin to repaint the structure, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

WSDOT will reduce the speed limit in the area from 70 mph to 60 mph. The change applies from just north of the East Fork Lewis River Bridge to Woodland city limits, according to the agency. The speed reduction is expected to be in place for several months, until workers stop for winter weather, according to WSDOT.

The entire $15 million project is expected to be complete in 2016. Workers are cleaning and painting the two spans that carry I-5 over the North Fork Lewis River to preserve and protect the structures, according to WSDOT.
