Letter: Emails reveal prepared spin

The Columbian

Though I get most of my information from the Wall Street Journal, the British Broadcasting Company, and my local newspapers, I was challenged by a good friend to open this link from Fox News.

I have every reason, as you should, not to doubt its authenticity.

This illuminates cover-up, spin, lying, whatever — nothing short.

That four good men were left behind at the Benghazi embassy when our forces had a chance to “run to the gunfire” as the military puts it, began the tragedy.

Then, to panic, as the administration did, and boldly lie so as to throw off the dogs regarding the truth of the attack … it did come at a most inopportune time for the administration.

But are the media going to turn a deaf and dumb ear to this mess just so Hillary Clinton and President Obama can “ride the wave” of domestic newspaper/television acceptability as future viable candidates and a living legacy of progressive success?

If that’s their attitude, they owe a most heartfelt and sincere apology to the Nixon administration and to the rest of us for not being honest, even-handed, and helpful.

What’s the benefit of a free press if it lies to itself?
