Clark County on Saturday will offer an opportunity for county residents to safely dispose of hazardous waste, electronics and block foam for free.

The event will accept waste items from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the south parking lot of Fisher’s Landing Transit Center, 3510 S.E. 164th Ave. in Vancouver.

People can drop off hazardous household waste including pesticides, paints, solvents, thinners, motor oils and cleaners, according to the county. Electronic equipment, block foam, tires, scrap metal, woody yard debris and other items will also be accepted. Free document shredding will also be offered, according to the county.

Collection events are sponsored by Clark County Environmental Services’ Green Neighbors program in partnership with the state Department of Ecology. A series of events so far this spring have collected more than 80 tons of material, according to the county. Additional collection events are planned for September and October.
