Sammi Hampton of Skyview tennis was voted The Columbian’s high school spring athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending May 17.
Hampton collected 46 percent of the 1,041 votes cast by fans to beat out Nicole O’Haver of Prairie softball, who had 40 percent.Hampton didn’t drop a set in winning her third consecutive Class 4A district singles championship and leading Skyview to the team title.
The other nominees were Trevor Huddleston of Woodland baseball, Keaton Spiller of Heritage track and field and Reilly Whitlock of Union golf.
Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Monday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Thursday.
