Letter: It’s poison for dogs; it can’t be good

From the May 16 story “Dogs getting sick from marijuana edibles,” I read that marijuana is toxic for dogs, with symptoms including “staggering, weakness, dilated pupils, slow heart rate, vomiting, trouble urinating, depression, seizures, hyperthermia, coma and, in rare cases, death.”

What about humans? How can pot be a poison for animals and yet touted as good medicine and recreational use for people? Go figure.
