Colleen Driscoll of Mountain View softball was voted The Columbian’s high school spring sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending May 24.
Driscoll collected 52 percent of the 926 votes cast by fans to beat out Carter Johnson of Skyview soccer, who had 18 percent.
Driscoll threw a one-hit shutout in the Thunder’s semifinal win over Columbia River in the bi-district tournament, picked up two more wins and collected six hits, including a home run and five RBI.
The other nominees were Akari Baba of Prairie tennis, Marcus Gaylor of Columbia River track and field and Alexa Efraimson of Camas track and field.
Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Monday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Thursday.
