Health Worker Report

The Columbian
Published: November 1, 2014, 12:00am

The Health Systems Quality Assurance Division of the state Department of Health recently took disciplinary actions or has withdrawn charges against these Clark County health care providers.

In July, the Massage Program charged massage practitioner Stacy Lemuel Andrew Bryant with unprofessional conduct. Charges say that when Bryant was locked in his room as a patient at a hospital’s behavioral health unit, he became angry, punched the floors and ceiling, threw furniture, and damaged the fire sprinkler system to the extent that it caused flooding in the facility. Police were called and Bryant allegedly assaulted two officers. In 2013, Bryant was convicted of third-degree assault and third-degree malicious mischief.

In July, the Nursing Commission entered an agreement with registered nurse Melissa R. Cummings that places her credential on probation and requires her to enroll in a substance abuse monitoring program. Cummings didn’t comply with a 2013 stipulation that required her to enroll in a substance abuse monitoring program.

In July, the Massage Program ended conditions on the credential of massage practitioner Karrisa J. Wessa.
