The 6-year-old girl who was hospitalized after a vehicle crashed into her and three other pedestrians on Halloween night was listed in good condition Wednesday.

The girl, whose parents have asked that her name not be released, is being treated at Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland.

She and 7-year-old Cadence Boyer were trick-or-treating with Chelina Alsteen, 30, and Cadence Boyer’s mother, Annie Arnold, on Friday night when a Ford Mustang drove onto the sidewalk and struck the group. Cadence Boyer died Sunday after spending two days on life support.

Alsteen remained in critical condition Wednesday at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Arnold was listed in good condition at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.

The driver of the Mustang, Duane C. Abbott, was allegedly under the influence of marijuana at the time of the crash. He faces a charge of vehicular homicide and three counts of vehicular assault.

According to court documents, Abbott said he was changing lanes on northbound Northeast 112th Avenue near 39th Street when he lost control of his vehicle and drove up onto the sidewalk, striking the victims and a utility pole.

Family of Cadence Boyer have organized a candlelight vigil for 8 p.m. Friday at the scene of the crash. The public is invited.

Kenny Boyer, the girl’s uncle, said that the family has obtained permits to close one northbound lane of 112th Avenue for the event, and they hired a flagging company to help with traffic control.

Kenny Boyer said that his father, Kevin Boyer, is one of the owners of Chappelle’s Towing, and that tow trucks from around the area are expected to be at the event to show support.

ControlTek and the Quad 205 Business Park have said that people can park in their parking lots during the event.
