University of the Pacific junior Lindsay Wourms helped the Tigers to the best finish at the West Coast Conference championships in program history Saturday, while running the fastest individual race time in school history.

The Camas High School graduate placed 32nd at the meet in Sunnyvale, Calif., with a time of 21 minutes, 25.2 seconds over the 6-kilometer (3.7-mile) course. The Tigers were eighth in the team standings, ahead of Pepperdine and Saint Mary’s College.

“Everyone had individual accomplishments today, and they were impressive,” Wourms told school athletics website pacifictigers.com. “I think they were overshadowed by what we accomplished as a program. I’m really proud of our team and excited to see where we can take this program in the future.”
