Class set Nov. 19 to teach game, fish preservation, storage

Advanced registration is open for a class on Nov. 19 in Vancouver on preservation and safe storage of game and fish.

The session will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Washington State University Clark County Extension conference room at The Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St.

Advance registration is required. The cost is $12.

Registration can be completed by calling 360-397-6060 extension 0, in person at the Heritage Farm reception desk, or online at brownpapertickets.com/event/908746.

The class is for both beginning and advanced sportsmen. Master Food Preservers will present a brief overview of sausage making, safe jerky preparation, how to smoke fish, differences in canning smoked and non-smoked fish and the best packaging methods for freezing.

Participants will get printed materials with the details along with recipes.
