Save the Date: Parade pays tribute to Clark County veterans

The Lough Legacy Veterans Parade will honor our nation’s veterans this morning with one of the largest parades on the West Coast. The event begins at 10 a.m. with a ceremony before Boy Scout troops, marching bands, rifle squads and veterans organizations march down Officers Row, 1101 Officers Row, Vancouver. • There will also be a Veterans Day presentation from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 10 at Clark College. Visitors are welcome to witness the presentation of the colors, student veterans and guest speakers, along with an Honor Tree, military history display and refreshments in the Gaiser Student Center, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver.

• This weekend also marks the release of anticipated fall films to the movie theaters, with the cosmic “Interstellar,” rated PG-13, and Disney’s “Big Hero 6,” rated PG, both offering new worlds to explore. Meanwhile, familiar tunes fill the stage as Journey Theater Arts Group presents “Annie Jr.” at 7 tonight at Fort Vancouver High School, 5700 E. 18th St., Vancouver. Tickets are $10 to $13. • Next weekend, fans of the choral arts can enjoy the Clark College Fall Choral Festival on Nov. 14 as 20 middle school and high school choirs will perform throughout the day. A showcase performance featuring four groups and the Clark College Women’s Choral Ensemble and Concert Choir will perform at 7 p.m. Gaiser Hall, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver. Admission is $5. • Popular pianist Michael Allen Harrison will be giving a benefit concert for Seton Catholic Prep High School Nov. 16 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8701 N.E. 119th St., Vancouver. Magenta Improv Theater will add a bit of laughter for the upcoming holiday season with their comedy show. Special guests Sound Asylum Musical Improv group will weave together songs and scenes from audience suggestions. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at Magenta Theater, 606 Main St., Vancouver.

• Tickets are also on sale for Magenta Theater’s upcoming holiday radio drama, “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus,” which will run Dec. 5 through 20. Visit www.magentatheater.com for more.
