TACOMA — The Washington State Patrol says an 86-year-old drunken driver was going the wrong way in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Tacoma late Monday night when he collided with another car near the Tacoma Dome.
There were no life-threatening injuries. The 86-year-old was jailed for investigation of vehicular assault.
KIRO reports southbound traffic backed up until the lanes were reopened about 1 a.m. Tuesday.
