City of Vancouver Parks & Recreation seeks front-desk help to provide information, check out recreation equipment and help with lost and found. A volunteer is also needed to scan pass holders.

Clark College Corporate and Continuing Education seeks office help with phones, files, and planning special events and off-campus excursions.

Clark County Veteran’s Assistance Center seeks volunteers to meet and greet veterans, determine their needs and direct them to the correct resources. Some record keeping is required.

Council for the Homeless seeks referral specialists to answer phones from people in need of shelter, collect and enter data, and help with office tasks.

Silver Buckle Ranch is looking for help with mentoring, juvenile justice, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, and with riding lessons.

Vancouver Housing Authority seeks Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese translators to help publish client newsletters.

• The Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership is looking for help planting trees, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, at Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Washougal. All ages are welcome and students can earn required community service hours for school. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Registration is required, and plantings are limited to 40 participants. • Columbia Springs seeks volunteers to help with projects to maintain and enhance habitat and facilities, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be a guided nature walk at the end of the event. • ASSE International Student Exchange Programs, a non-profit organization, seeks people to serve as area representatives in our community. ASSE provides academic year and semester exchanges for high school students from around the world to study in the U.S. Area representatives recruit and screen prospective host families, interview students to study abroad and supervise the exchange students in their community and are compensated based on the number of students supervised.
