Clark volleyball drops finale in five sets

Penguins will be No. 3 seed for NWAC Tournament

The Clark College volleyball team ended the regular season with a tough five-set NWAC West division loss to Green River of Auburn on Friday.

The Gators (21-20, 9-5 West) won 13-25, 19-25, 27-25, 27-25, 18-16.

The loss makes the Penguins (18-17, 10-4) the No. 3 team from the West for next week’s NWAC Tournament in Tacoma. They will open against Linn-Benton at 2 p.m. Thursday in the double-elimination event.

Against Green River, Clark’s Janessa Mast had 17 kills and 12 digs; Vanessa Muckerheide had 16 kills; Samantha Hammons had 10 kills; Jazmyn Boyd-Clark had 18 digs; Meghan Turner 11 digs; and Kinsey Pease had 48 assists.
