Letter: I-594 is beginning of end to rights

That many in our state vote on ignorance and emotional reaction is a given. Only in Washington/America can so many decry the “evil 1 percent wealthy” and their power, yet vote dictated by the massive money from that 1 percent (Bill Gates, Paul Allen, Michael Bloomberg, et al) who supported Initiative 594.

The gullible were told that Second Amendment rights were not infringed by I-594, that the law-abiding won’t have difficulty.

Did anyone notice RCW 9.41.090 being amended to require that dealers not deliver a pistol to anyone who does not show a valid concealed pistol license, regardless of their background check results?

Did anyone notice that, even with a clean record, the amended RCW 9.41.040 changes issuance of concealed permit from “shall issue” to the discretion of law enforcement jurisdiction where the permit is applied for?

I-594 is the beginning of the end of Second Amendment rights in Washington. I-594, as written, places responsible purchasers and owners of guns in a position of surveillance by government and confiscation of legally owned firearms at the discretion of local law enforcement agencies.

Did anyone notice the gift from the Trojans in their figurative courtyards?
