Letter: There’s something we can agree on

With Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., soon out of the way, the Republicans now have a chance to do something constructive. Something that will be a legacy for the party.

No, it is not getting rid of Obamacare. That’s a Democratic Party legacy.

What the Republicans can do is just as important to our nation’s health, as well as for our environment and national security. It is to open the most important garbage dump in the country and clean our communities of nuclear waste.

Certainly our U.S. Reps. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas; Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash.; Dan Newhouse, R-Wash.; and Dave Reichert, R-Wash., can get this done. Certainly this is something Senate leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, can do to prove their leadership and bipartisanship.

Get it done, please.
