PORTLAND — A man called the Where’s Waldo bandit was sentenced Tuesday in Portland to five years in prison.
The Oregonian reports police gave Ryan Homsley his nickname from photos of a 2010 robbery in Tualatin, Ore., that showed him wearing a striped shirt and glasses like the Where’s Waldo cartoon character.
Homsley was released from prison in that case in 2013. Six days later he robbed a Portland bank. He was sentenced to four years in prison for that robbery plus another year for a probation violation.
His lawyer says Homsley is a homeless heroin addict who also has diabetes.
