The Clark County commissioners are seeking applicants for five Railroad Advisory Board positions with three-year terms beginning Jan. 1 and expiring Dec. 31, 2017. The commissioners also are seeking applicants to fill an unexpired term on the board that ends Dec. 31, 2015, and one that ends Dec. 31, 2016.

The Railroad Advisory Board advises the commissioners about the county-owned, 33-mile-long railroad known as the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad. The 15-member board considers how best to achieve long-term return on investment, leverage the railroad for economic development, and address concerns of stakeholders and constituents affected by the railroad.

Meetings are from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the sixth-floor hearing room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver.

The commissioners are seeking applicants with experience in the railroad industry; industrial production and transportation; industrial real estate development, site selection and marketing; economic development; transportation infrastructure, planning and engineering; passenger rail, tourism and promotion; and general knowledge about Clark County.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest and résumé to Jennifer Clark, Board of County Commissioners, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000 or email jennifer.clark@clark.wa.gov.

Application deadline is 5 p.m. Dec. 11.
