Fishing report 11/27

The Columbian
Published:

No sampling of Southwest Washington anglers is available this week from the state Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s sole check is from the mouth of the John Day River, where the Columbia backs several miles up the John Day. There sampling last weekend found 21 boats with nine steelhead kept and 27 wild steelhead released.

Washington’s special Black Friday fishery opens Friday at Klineline Pond and Battle Ground Lake in Clark County, Kress Lake in Cowlitz County and Rowland Lake in Klickitat County.

Each lake has been stocked with 2,000 rainbow trout averaging 15 to 16 inches.

Swift Reservoir is closed beginning Monday with the arrival of December.

The reservoir is 19 feet below full pool.
