Sunday kicks off fire prevention week and the East County Fire & Rescue is asking residents to test their smoke detectors.
The agency also asks families to prepare for fires by having an escape plan.
After testing smoke detectors, which should be done once a month, firefighters will install or replace smoke detectors that aren’t working. Crews from the agency can be reached at Station 91, 360-834-4908 or Station 94 at 360-210-4837.
