A public vigil is planned tonight to remember Stormy Solis, the 7-year-old who died Friday from a brain injury.

The vigil starts at 6:30 p.m. at Fisher Basin Community Park in east Vancouver near Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard and 192nd Avenue.

Solis reportedly went home from Fisher’s Landing Elementary School on Wednesday and told her family there had been an accident on the swings and she felt dizzy.

She was sent to a hospital that evening, where she was diagnosed with a brain injury. She was taken off life support Friday morning.

Evergreen Public Schools spokeswoman Gail Spolar said that no one at school saw the incident and that the student didn’t tell anyone about it.

The district and a third-party investigator are in the process of an investigation that includes interviews with staff and a review of the weekly playground inspection reports, Spolar said.
