PROMOTIONS

Navy Chief Petty Officer Molly Burgess was recently promoted to her current rank, receiving her pin at a ceremony last month. Burgess is a mass communications specialist with 18 years of service in the Navy, and currently editor of the Navy’s Flagship newspaper in Norfolk, Va. She was honored as the 2014 Mid-Atlantic Region Shore Sailor of the Year. Burgess is a 1995 graduate of La Center High School. Her father and stepmother, Terry and Rhonda Freeman, live in La Center and her mother, Karen Freeman, lives in Grants Pass, Ore.

RESERVE OFFICERS’ TRAINING CORPS

Courtney L. Altfilish, a student at Washington State University Pullman, has graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Knox, Ky. Altfilish is the daughter of David and Wendie Altfilish of Vancouver, and sister of Lindsay Sturdavin and Spencer Altfilish of Woodland. She is a 2012 graduate of Woodland High School.
