Through 10 games this season, the unbeaten Western Washington University women’s soccer team has allowed only two goals — and one of those was an own goal.

WWU junior goalkeeper Ashley Haden, a Hockinson High School graduate, leads the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in goals-against average (0.20), save percentage (.935) and shutouts (seven). In all of NCAA Division II, she ranks second in save percentage and third in goals against average.

The Vikings (9-0-1, 5-0-1 GNAC) moved up three spots to No. 19 in NCAA-II rankings by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

WWU plays Thursday at Western Oregon and Saturday at Saint Martin’s.

Women’s soccer: Arizona’s Skadsen scores another PK

University of Arizona junior defender Sheaffer Skadsen converted a penalty kick that stood as the game-winning goal in a 2-0 home victory Friday over Oregon State.

Arizona was awarded a penalty for a hand ball in the box by the Beavers.

It was the Skyview High School graduate’s second goal of the season for the Wildcats, both coming from the penalty spot.

Arizona plays at the Washington schools this weekend, with matches at WSU at 2 p.m. Friday then UW at 1 p.m. Sunday. Both will be televised live by the Pac-12 Network.

Skadsen is featured in a story on UA’s website arizonawildcats.com — available at http://tinyurl.com/kvd8sxm — about her life as a major college athlete with Type 1 diabetes.

Men’s golf: Hall, Smith lead Bellevue CC

Battle Ground High School graduate Chad Hall claimed medalist honors at the Cardinal Classic tournament Sept. 28-29 at Avalon Golf Links in Burlington, finishing one stroke ahead of Mountain View High School graduate Taylor Smith, his Bellevue College teammate.

Hall (67-75) finished at 2-under par and Smith (68-75) at 1-under. The Bulldogs won the team title by two strokes.
