Amber Alert issued for Vancouver boy, 10

Authorities say the boy was taken by his father from school today

Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 10-year-old Vancouver boy who was picked up from school today by his estranged father.

Andrey Voronenko was picked up from Mill Plain Elementary School, 400 S.E. 164th Ave. in Vancouver, at about 2:25 p.m. by his father, Alexy Voronenko, 38. The boy and his mother had fled to Vancouver from Texas after Alexy Voronenko was placed in jail on a domestic violence charge, according to the Amber Alert.

The boy’s father has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and Andrey Voronenko could be in danger, according to the alert.

The boy is 4 feet 10 inches tall, weighs about 70 pounds, and has green eyes and brown hair with a bowl cut. He was last seen wearing a navy polo shirt with pink stripes, gray pants, blue and gray tennis shoes and a dark, navy-blue rain coat.

His father is 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 300 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. His hair has some gray in it, and he has a mustache.

Alexy Voronenko is believed to be driving a dark-gray 2007 Honda Accord with a Texas license plate, number CKK3638. It’s a four-door sedan with tinted windows.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call the Clark County Sheriff’s Office at 360-397-2211 or 911.
