The National Women’s Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation, based in Vancouver, recently announced its national leadership team for 2014-2016. Cofounders Michelle Bart and Carolyn Pillsbury will continue serving as president and vice president, respectively; new on the board is Wanda Costi, treasurer and finance director. Take a look at the rest of the team at http://nwcave.org/aboutus/leadershipcouncil.html.

NWCAVE aims to inform, educate and prevent violence and exploitation against women and children nationally and internationally.

The private nonprofit agency also just announced a new national award in honor of the late Rita Burns, a Florida educator (and domestic violence survivor) who worked heroically for the good of others despite her own cancer diagnosis.
