Heavy rainfall across the Northwest broke records in numerous places Wednesday, including Vancouver.
The city saw 1.7 inches of rain Wednesday, easily beating the previous record for that date, according to the National Weather Service in Portland. The old mark for Oct. 22 was 1.06 inches, set in 1963, according to the weather service.
The storm brought even more rain to other parts of Clark County. Just before 8 a.m. this morning, Battle Ground had recorded 2.13 inches in the past 24 hours, according to the weather service. Larch Mountain had seen 2.61 inches. And Canyon Creek, in the northeast corner of the county, had recorded 2.77 inches of rain, according to the weather service.
Vancouver will see showers today, before another strong storm system is expected to bring steadier rain to the region on Friday and into this weekend, according to the weather service.
