JERUSALEM — Jerusalem’s mayor is calling for a crackdown against a wave of Palestinian unrest, saying violence will not be tolerated in his city.

Nir Barkat said in an interview Thursday that violence in the city has become intolerable.

He spoke a day after a Palestinian driver rammed his car into a crowded train station, killing a 3-month-old baby girl and wounding eight people in what police called a terror attack.

Police on Thursday were beefing up security across Jerusalem.

Barkat says Israel must fight the violence and “we will win that war.”
