SEATTLE — A Seattle-area nurse who has returned after treating Ebola patients in Africa is being monitored and voluntarily restricting her movements.

Public Health Seattle-King County says she has shown no sign of the disease and the monitoring is routine, following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The nurse is taking her temperature twice a day. Health officials are checking with her twice a day for 21 days.

The monitoring was first reported Wednesday by The Seattle Times.

The health department says the added precaution is the new normal.
