Clark College to honor veterans Nov. 10

The Columbian
Published:

Clark College’s Veterans Resource Center will celebrate Veterans Day from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 10 in Gaiser Student Center, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way. The celebration is the day before the official Veterans Day holiday because the college is closed Nov. 11.

The free, public event will include a presentation of the colors, student veterans and other speakers, opportunity to write cards to members of the military, an Honor Tree on which guests can attach ribbons with the names of loved ones who have served or are serving, military memorabilia from the historic Vancouver Barracks, children’s activities and refreshments.

Clark College’s Veterans Resource Center opened in March with the help of a grant from the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington. About 700 veterans attend Clark College every quarter.
