Gas prices continue to drop dramatically around the nation. Oregon and Washington reported the nation’s largest declines for the week and month.

Washington’s average price per gallon for regular unleaded is $3.23 per gallon; Oregon’s is $3.21, AAA Oregon/Idaho reported Tuesday. Both state averages are at their lowest point since early 2011. Vancouver’s average was even better at just $3.16 per gallon.

Oregon’s 15-cent price drop for the week was the nation’s steepest, followed by Washington’s 13-cent drop for regular unleaded gasoline. Vancouver topped both, with a 17-cent drop. The national average dropped by 6 cents.

Oregon’s price is down 48 cents less than a month ago and Washington’s average is 47 cents less. In Vancouver, the price is down by 51 cents, almost double the nation’s average decline of 26 cents.

Washington now has the nation’s 12th highest average gas price and Oregon’s is the 14th most expensive. Both were in the nation’s top ten a week ago.
