A reward is now being offered for information that assists investigators in determining who caused a fire at a Hazel Dell church last month.

Clark County Senior Deputy Fire Marshal Susan Anderson said that the Arson Alarm Foundation is offering up to $10,000 for tips that lead to help closing the case.

Investigators have determined that the Aug. 17 fire at Amazing Grace Baptist Church, 6902 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave., was human-caused.

The blaze, which caused an estimated $1.5 million in damage, started on an exterior wall at the back of the building and climbed into the attic, Anderson said.

Investigators are still trying to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fire.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the fire marshal’s office at 360-397-2186 ext. 3321.
