A Gresham, Ore., man and his Camas girlfriend are facing aggravated sex abuse, child pornography production and other charges after being accused of molesting a toddler and capturing the abuse in photos and video.

The two, James Lee Hickerson, 35, and Carolyn M. Knudsen, 28, were indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday, about nine days after they were arrested on related accusations. Federal prosecutors said the abuse occurred several times and investigators recovered multiple photos and videos. The two also are charged with transporting the child between Oregon and Washington for the purpose of molestation.

Hickerson also watched via Skype as Knudsen abused the child on occasion, according to filings by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jane Shoemaker.

In a separate indictment Thursday, the grand jury also charged Hickerson with distribution and possession of pornography, and it charged his 56-year-old father, Neil Lee Hickerson, with receipt and possession of child pornography. The two men live together and would download and watch child porn, filings state.

The elder Hickerson has a previous conviction for attempted first-degree sex abuse involving a minor stemming from a 1998 case in Grant County.

All three pleaded not guilty Thursday afternoon in U.S. District Court.
