Two men face robbery charges after allegedly stealing an iPad and skateboard at knifepoint late Wednesday night.

Randy Carroll and Christopher Winterroth, both 21-year-old Vancouver residents, were driving in a car in the area of East Fourth Plain Boulevard and General Anderson Avenue and slowed while passing a man on his skateboard, according to charging documents filed in Clark County Superior Court.

Carroll and Winterroth then stopped, got out of the car and confronted the victim, court documents say. Carroll held a knife to the man’s stomach and demanded that he give up his backpack, which had an iPad inside, according to the documents.

The victim gave up his backpack, and before he ran off, Carroll and Winterroth took the victim’s skateboard, the documents say. The victim returned home at about 11:45 p.m. and called 911, reporting the crime and the license plate of the car to Vancouver police.

The vehicle was later pulled over by a Clark County sheriff’s deputy, and a Vancouver police officer responded to arrest Carroll and Winterroth.

Both suspects were held on suspicion of first-degree robbery.

Judge Suzan Clark set bail at $75,000 and the two men are scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Sept. 18.
