An adaptive tricycle belonging to a boy with special needs was stolen last week from the front porch of his house in the VanMall neighborhood.

His mother reported the theft to Vancouver police Monday. The red Rifton adaptive tricycle was donated to the 10-year-old boy by Shriners Hospital for Children. Sometime on Sept. 11 or 12, the unlocked tricycle was stolen from the house in the 5700 block of Northeast 85th Avenue.

According to the Rifton website, a new tricycle costs at least $1,400 depending on how many accessories are added.

Anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the tricycle is asked to call 911 or the Vancouver Police Department’s west precinct at 360-487-7355.
