Firefighters responded to a reported fire at a chip tower Wednesday at Georgia-Pacific mill in Camas. The mill’s emergency response team found the fire at the top of a silo around 9 a.m. and quickly put it out, said mill spokeswoman Kristi Ward.

The Camas-Washougal Fire Department was called to the mill, 401 N.E. Adams St. The workers there didn’t need any more help, though, said Camas-Washougal fire Chief Nick Swinhart. It appeared that the automatic sprinkler system activated as well.

Georgia-Pacific is investigating the cause of the fire, Ward said.
