Lutheran church members spend weekend volunteering

The Columbian
Published:

Clark County — Three local Lutheran churches spent the first weekend of September giving back to the community, joining hundreds of other Evangelical Lutheran Church in American congregations who volunteered their services in early September. Over the weekend, Vancouver’s St. Andrew and St. Paul Lutheran churches, and Zion Lutheran Church of Camas took part in service days. St. Andrew Lutheran members visited Orchards Elementary School to paint a large U.S. map in the playground and also pick up trash and trim brush. St. Paul Lutheran members put together food packets to give to the homeless, made bracelets for Good Deeds for Beads and sang at a local retirement home. And in Camas, Zion Lutheran members picked up litter along the streets near their church.
