Commissioners appoint four to health council

Clark County commissioners appointed four community members to serve three-year terms on the volunteer Public Health Advisory Council.

Advisory board members provide the county board of health, made up of the county commissioners, with advice on public health policies. Terms begin Oct. 1 and end Sept. 30, 2017.

Here are the appointed members:

• Sandra Mathewson, who has been a board member for 10 years, was reappointed to represent the educational community. Mathewson is director of prevention and youth services at Educational Service District 112.

• Tracy Rude will represent consumers. She is a licensed practical nurse and a Clark County Skills Center teacher.

• Dr. Remy Eussen, a pediatric dentist in Vancouver, was appointed to the seat reserved for a dentist.

• Bryce Hackett, a senior at Columbia River High School, was appointed to represent county youth.
