• The Management Group has added four employees to its Vancouver and Portland offices. Debbie Donison is a new staff accountant in Vancouver. She will be responsible for portfolio activities of the company’s Washington properties. Shannon Chambers is now community association manager, also in Vancouver. Morgan Moser and Ruth Dempsey join the Portland office as staff accountants.

• OBEC Consulting Engineers has appointed Jenny Carlson as office manager for the firm’s Vancouver office. Carlson joined OBEC in 2013. Since then, she has helped bolster the firm’s marine and port facilities services in northern Oregon and southwest Washington, the company said in a news release. Carlson’s experience includes project management, conceptual and detail design, and permitting assistance.

New business

• Taste of Sichuan, a restaurant featuring Sichuan-style Chinese food, celebrated its grand opening July 11 at Eastside Spectrum, 1825 S.E. 164th Ave., Suite 110, Vancouver. The event marked the opening of the second Taste of Sichuan restaurant in the area owned by Stacy Zhong and Dietmar Schimmel, with the other in Beaverton, Ore. The Vancouver restaurant is open every day. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday; 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; and 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Other business news

The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual officer installation and 2014 Business and Leadership Awards event, sponsored by the Port of Vancouver, on Sept. 9 at the Hilton Vancouver Washington. The theme for this year’s event was “A Whole New Ballgame.” Awards were presented to these businesses or individuals:

• Community Builder (large business): New Seasons Market.

• Community Builder (small business): Mill Creek Pub.

• 2014 Start up to Watch: Fringe Digital Marketing Agency.

• Statesman of the Year: Nan Henriksen, chairwoman of county freeholder board, business owner, former mayor of Camas.

• Community Champion: Tom Hagley Jr., chief of staff at Vancouver Public Schools.
