“Celebrate Pearson Field” will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at historic Pearson Field, 201-A East Reserve St.

There is no admission fee for the annual event, which is hosted by Fort Vancouver National Trust, the city of Vancouver and Pearson Field Advocates for General Aviation.

Family activities include: an open cockpit of a T-28 aircraft; displays of classic airplanes; model-glider building; the flight simulator lab; a drawing for free airplane flights; and displays of local search-and-rescue groups.

There also will be a free hotdog lunch from noon to 2 p.m. and live music from 1 to 4 p.m.

Pearson’s aviation history began in 1905, when Lincoln Beachey flew a dirigible from Portland to Vancouver Barracks. For information, visit www.pearsonfield.com.
