Bagley Downs — A new ReTails Thrift Store has opened at 5000 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., across from Golden Skate (and the longtime store at 52nd and St. Johns has closed). The store is operated by and benefits the Humane Society for Southwest Washington.

At 25,000 square feet, the store is big enough to accept and sell a wider variety of donated items and to cater to crafters and do-it-yourselfers. It has hosted a couple of crafting demonstrations this month and will do one more: a furniture makeover workshop at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27. There’s a coffee bar, too.

Proceeds from ReTails Thrift Stores support the Humane Society’s mission of pet adoptions, proper veterinary care for animals and other programs for companion animals. Learn more at southwesthumane.org or 360-693-4746.
