Vancouver police responded Wednesday night to a reported stabbing in Vancouver’s Hough neighborhood.

A witness to the incident called 911 at about 10 p.m. to report that someone had been stabbed at 900 W. 16th St., that the victim was unconscious and barely breathing, and that the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle, according to emergency radio traffic monitored by The Columbian.

The suspect’s vehicle was described to police as an older, white hatchback car with one headlight out, according to radio traffic, and the car reportedly left eastbound on 16th Street. The stabbing suspect was described as a white man who is balding, has scruffy facial hair and was wearing a red shirt.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, according to radio traffic.

Vancouver police said they were not releasing any information Wednesday night about the incident. The agency expected to release more information early Thursday morning, Vancouver police Officer Ilia Botvinnik said.
