Sen. Ann Rivers, R-La Center, and Sen. Annette Cleveland, D-Vancouver, were honored for their work to increase access to early learning.

The two legislators were awarded Crayon Awards from the Early Learning Action Alliance for their commitment to helping children in their first five years of life.

Debbie Ham of Support for Early Learning & Families, convener of Southwest Washington’s early learning regional coalition, presented the lawmakers with their award.

“Support for Early Learning & Families is delighted to partner with the Early Learning Action Alliance in honoring two deserving legislators,” said Ham. “Having two legislators in Southwest Washington earn this distinction provides immense hope for the children of Clark County.”
