Anyone can nominate a favorite local nonprofit agency for a Nonprofit Excellence Award. The awards are in their fifth year and sponsored by the Nonprofit Network Southwest Washington. Forms and guidelines are available at www.nonprofitnetworkwa.org. The nomination deadline is April 30.
There are awards in the following categories: excellence in governance; impact on the problem or need; corporate support for nonprofits striving for sustainability; volunteer engagement; and collaboration with another nonprofit, business or government entity.
Finalists will be featured at an awards reception, set for 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Heathman Lodge. The award recipients will be announced at the event.
