Vancouver — The U.S. Census Bureau is hosting a hiring event April 24 to find candidates for short-term work as field representatives for a Clark County survey.

The agency says it will soon begin hiring for the 2015 American Housing Survey. Workers will interview selected households in the county.

The temporary field jobs are part-time, with people expected to work 60 to 80 hours per month. Hours can be flexible, the Census Bureau said. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle and pass a background check.

The pay rate ranges from $12.85-$14.42 per hour, and the field workers will be reimbursed for travel costs.

The April 24 hiring event will be at WorkSource Vancouver, 5411 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Suite 15. Interested persons should call 1-800-992-3529 to arrange an appointment for a basic skills test and a possible job interview. Other sessions may be held at later dates as needed.
