A single-vehicle crash in the Woodland area killed a man Sunday evening.

The crash happened in the 2200 block of Dike Road after 6 p.m., according to the The Daily News in Longview. A 1969 Ford Bronco left the roadway and went through a fence before rolling several times, the newspaper reported.

The driver and a dog were ejected from the Bronco, while a passenger got out of the vehicle on his own. A deer antler that had been inside the vehicle pierced the driver’s head, according to the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died.

The passenger and the dog were unscathed by the crash. The sheriff’s office is investigating the crash and did not release the names of those involved. An autopsy done by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the driver’s cause of death.
