The Portland Thorns rallied from a two-goal deficit Saturday to earn a 2-2 draw with the Chicago Red Stars in a National Women’s Soccer League game in Lisle, Ill.

Christine Sinclair scored in the first half and Mana Shim just after halftime for Portland (2-0-1, 7 points).

U.S. Women’s national team forward Christen Press scored twice in the first eight minutes for the Red Stars. Her first goal was a 22-yard shot into the right corner. Her second was from 10 yards away to the left of goal.

The Thorns climbed within 2-1 on Sinclair’s first goal of the season in the 29th minute, a perfectly placed shot from 15 yards after some good work by Tobin Heath. Shim scored the tying goal, her second in as many weeks, in the 47th minute.

The Thorns next play on May 9 when the Washington Spirit visit Providence Park.
