Friends of the Carpenter sale Friday, Saturday

Published:

Christian nonprofit agency Friends of the Carpenter is holding its annual tool and product sale Friday and Saturday.

The homeless ministry owns and operates a woodworking shop and warehouse on the west side of downtown where people are invited to build skills, self-esteem and social connections by making things. You can see what they make and even spend a few dollars to take home a keepsake — or a tool.

On sale will be crosses, plaques, Christmas ornaments, pens, planter boxes, bird and pet feeders, gumball machines and more. Plus gently used power tools — including a band saw, chain saw, table saws, tabletop drill press, belt sanders and shop vacs — and other donations of all sorts that have come to Friends of the Carpenter over the last year or so, executive director Tom Iberle said.

The sale is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Friendship Center, 1600 W. 20th Street. Learn more at friendsofthecarpenter.org.
